On Saturday afternoon around 2:15 pm, there was a collision between a car and the Strohgäubahn on a field path below the L1141 between Schwieberdingen and Münchingen. A 61-year-old driver of an Opel Vectra wanted to cross the railway crossing there, which is only secured with a traffic light system and without a barrier.
She ignored the red light and drove into the track area, where the Strohgäubahn was entering at that moment. The lady was lucky in misfortune, as her vehicle was only grazed and she survived the collision without injuries. The front area of the Opel was damaged. There was property damage amounting to about 3,000 euros. The train was scratched on the right side. Here, the damage amounts to about 5,000 euros.
