250117-4-K Police seize firearms, drugs and hidden cash during restaurant inspections - Two men arrested

As part of a focused operation in the Kalk district, the Cologne police encountered and checked 13 men, who are allegedly part of the biker gang environment, in a bar on Thursday evening (16th January). During the search of the bar, the police found two firearms hidden under a seat cushion.
In addition, a sniffer dog found a five-figure sum of cash in the bar's kitchen, which could not be assigned to any owner and was also seized.

In the course of checking a vehicle parked directly in front of the bar, the officers seized four more live firearms. Two men - a 29-year-old and a 36-year-old - to whom the weapons could be assigned, were temporarily arrested by the police. A judge subsequently ordered the search of their apartments in Moers and Krefeld.

The investigations for violations of the Weapons Act by the two arrested individuals and for suspicion of money laundering by the 40-year-old operator of the bar are ongoing. (as/al)
