The 29-year-old tried to avoid the BMW with his Golf and touched the Audi in the process. Nevertheless, the BMW and the Golf collided. Both the accident causer and the Golf driver were slightly injured.
The total damage amounted to approximately 55,000 euros. For accident recording, as well as recovery and cleanup work, two of the three lanes had to be closed until about 09:45 am. The Karlsruhe traffic police have taken over the investigation into the cause of the wrong-way driving or the cause of the accident. Drivers who saw the accident or were endangered by the wrong-way driver themselves are asked to contact the traffic police at the telephone number 0721/944840.
