(BC) Laupheim - Cyclist falls on slippery road / A 16-year-old had to be taken to the hospital on Thursday morning after an accident in Laupheim

The teenager was on his way down "Am Mäuerle" street towards Lange Straße just before 8 o'clock. He braked at a slippery spot just before the junction.
In doing so, his front wheel slipped out from under him and the boy fell face-first onto the asphalt. The emergency services took him to a hospital. The Laupheim police have started investigations. The cyclist was apparently not wearing a helmet. No significant damage was done to the bicycle.

The risk of falls can indeed be significantly reduced by one's own anticipatory and prudent behavior, especially when participating in road traffic. However, the risk of accidents due to one's own mistakes or those of others can never be completely ruled out - we all make mistakes, whether children or adults! The potential consequences: severe or unfortunately sometimes even fatal injuries can be prevented or at least significantly reduced with the right protection. With the campaign "Protect Your Best!", the police and their safety partners are promoting the wearing of helmets while cycling.
