Traffic accident in Ückendorf - Schoolchild missing

Based on witness reports, the Gelsenkirchen police have begun investigations into a traffic accident in Ückendorf. On Monday morning, 13th January 2025, a child crossed a green traffic light at around 7.35 am at the intersection of Bergmannstraße and Ückendorfer Straße.
At the same time, a white van turned from Ückendorfer Straße into Bergmannstraße. A collision is said to have occurred. The driver of the van allegedly continued without stopping, while passers-by took care of the child. The child was presumably a boy of primary school age between six to ten years old.

The police are asking the parents of the child to contact them by phone at 0209 365 6221 or 0209 365 2160. The same applies to the driver of the white van and the passers-by who helped the child.
