(Allensbach, District of Konstanz) Oil spill during refuelling (16.01.2025)

Presumably due to a technical defect, there was an overfilling of the oil tank, causing several thousand litres of oil to overflow into the heating room and from there into a seepage shaft. The immediately alerted fire brigade sealed off the shaft with sandbags to prevent further leakage during the pumping out. To determine the extent of the pollution, an employee of the also notified water management office ordered the pumping out of the leaked operating fluid in the seepage pit down to the groundwater. The water management office also called in an expert to coordinate subsequent measures.

The investigations regarding the exact cause of the overflow are ongoing.
