Attempted burglary in basement compartment - Police seeking witnesses

On Monday, January 13, 2025, around 01:55 am, an as yet unknown perpetrator attempted to forcibly open a basement compartment in a multi-family house on Rund Achtern Street. According to current knowledge, the perpetrator was probably disturbed by the triggered alarm system and fled.
Access to the basement rooms is generally only possible via the main entrance or an underground garage. Keys are required for both entrances, so it is still unclear how the perpetrator was able to get into the basement.

The police have started investigations and are asking for witnesses to come forward. Anyone who observed suspicious persons or vehicles in the Rund Achtern area on the night of January 13, 2025, or can provide any other relevant information, is asked to contact the Oldenburg police at the telephone number 0441-7904115.(54089)
