District of Lörrach - City area Weil am Rhein - The police are looking for witnesses to a fraud!

Event time: Saturday, 18.01.2025, 5:00 to 5:15 PMDuring the mentioned period, a 39-year-old man rang several doorbells in the area of Stüdlestraße / Bläserstraße in Weil am Rhein, asking for a cash donation for a local circus in the district. The 39-year-old stated that he would pass on the received cash for the benefit of the circus animals.
The 39-year-old could not identify himself as an employee and appeared to be very neglected. Therefore, a resident found his behavior suspicious and informed the police.

As part of the search, the 39-year-old was found collecting donations on Bläserstraße. Upon the arrival of the officers, he had already obtained cash from a local resident by making the same claims.

It was determined that the 39-year-old does not collect for any circus or work for any, and merely uses this as a pretext in a fraudulent intention to obtain cash.

So far, only three victims are known to the Weil am Rhein police station, but it is assumed that there are far more victims in the city area of Weil am Rhein due to the cash found on the 39-year-old.

As a result of further investigations, the Weil am Rhein police station is therefore looking for additional witnesses/victims who were also deceived by the 39-year-old.

Please provide information around the clock to the Weil am Rhein police station, Tel. 07621 97970
