Gütersloh (AN) - On Friday evening (17.01., 18.35 hrs) a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Westring/Herzebrocker Straße in Gütersloh, in which one person was slightly injured. A 47-year-old man from Gütersloh was driving his Mercedes-Benz car on Westring (B 61) in the direction of Rheda-Wiedenbrück.

Ahead of him, a 55-year-old man from Gütersloh was also driving his Peugeot car on Westring in the same direction. At the intersection of Westring/Herzebrocker Straße, the 55-year-old had to stop due to traffic, as a fire brigade vehicle was crossing the intersection with flashing blue lights and siren. The 47-year-old then drove into the stationary Peugeot. In the accident, the 51-year-old passenger in the Peugeot sustained minor injuries. The woman from Gütersloh was taken to a hospital by ambulance, which she was able to leave again after outpatient treatment. Both vehicles involved were significantly damaged, the total damage is estimated at 23,000 euros.
