(KA) Karlsruhe - Fire in Assisted Living Facility in West Karlsruhe

Due to a suspected faulty stove, a fire broke out in a assisted living facility on Kochstraße on Friday afternoon around 4:20 pm. A resident was precautionarily taken to the nearby hospital as there was suspicion of smoke inhalation.
The remaining residents of the senior home were asked to leave the building. According to the current status, they fortunately remained uninjured.

The amount of damage is estimated to be around 100,000 euros. According to the Karlsruhe Fire Department, the affected floor is apparently currently uninhabitable.

Kochstraße remained closed for the duration of the operation.
