Youth protection checks by the police

On Wednesday (January 15), the Criminal Investigation Department 1 of the Heinsberg Police, together with the Regulatory and Youth Welfare Office of the city of Hückelhoven, once again conducted so-called test purchases. The aim was to determine to what extent petrol stations, kiosks and supermarkets comply with the provisions of youth protection (sale of alcohol and cigarettes).
In Hückelhoven, Baal, Ratheim, Hilfarth and Millich, a total of 19 objects (kiosks, petrol stations, supermarkets) were checked. In five objects, alcohol was sold to 14- and 16-year-old teenagers, eleven times the provisions of youth protection were complied with. The necessary reports will be processed by the Regulatory Office of the city of Hückelhoven. All participants agreed to continue the checks at irregular intervals in the future.
