Forbidden motor vehicle race on the so-called Concrete Road

On Friday morning (17.01.25), around 11.00 am, a civilian video patrol of the Police Highway and District Precinct North, Specialist Service Husum, was driving on the Grenzstraße (L192, Concrete Street) in Bramstedtlund. While the officers were driving at the permitted speed of about 100 km/h towards Flensburg, they were overtaken by a black BMW X7. The police officers estimated the speed of the BMW at the time of overtaking to be over 200 km/h, accelerated the video vehicle as well and carried out several measurements during the further course of the journey, all of which confirmed a driven speed of over 200 km/h.
The calibrated speed system of the civilian police vehicle provided a reprehensible value of 228 km/h, with the distance to the BMW continuing to increase, meaning the BMW was actually driving even faster. Even when overtaking another vehicle, the driver did not reduce his speed. Due to the high engine power, it was initially not possible to catch up with the BMW and ask it to stop. The officers finally decided to warn other road users by using blue light/siren and hoped that the driver would feel prompted to end his dangerous driving behavior and stop for a check. Suddenly, however, the BMW braked sharply, turned left into Böxlund and immediately drove right onto a private property. The patrol followed the vehicle with an emergency drive. Alerted by the blue light of the emergency vehicle, the owner of the property came out of the house and asked what was going on. The man did not know either the BMW or its driver and wondered why his property was being driven on - this could not be clarified even in the subsequent questioning of the driver.

After being admonished by the police, the 63-year-old driver did not comment on the matter. The police officers reported this to the public prosecutor's office, which suspected an illegal car race and ordered the confiscation of the driver's license.

Even just considering the driven speed, the following would apply to the driver:

Fine 1400.-EUR

3 months driving ban 2 points

The investigations are ongoing.
