Fraud attempt uncovered during theoretical driving test

(AB) A 55-year-old man, equipped with extensive technical gear, appeared for his theoretical driving test on Wednesday morning. The examiner's attention was drawn to the examinee from the start of the appointment, as the man from Minden, despite his significant deficits in the German language, wanted to take the theoretical part of the test in German on the computer.
This seemed suspicious to the TÜV employee, so he took a closer look after the test had been completed. He noticed an earplug in the suspect's ear. This strengthened the suspicion of an attempt to cheat, as a result of which he alerted the police. The officers ultimately found extensive technical equipment that was attached and wired underneath his clothing. Apparently, the test questions were transmitted in real time from the screen to the prompter via a camera in his outer clothing, who transmitted the correct answers via the button in his ear.

In addition, a four-digit amount of cash was found in his clothing, which was possibly to be handed over after passing the test. This and the technical equipment were seized by the officers. The investigation into the accomplice of the 55-year-old is ongoing.

It probably wasn't about language skills - after all, the test doesn't have to be taken in German. It goes without saying that the test was rated as failed. In addition, criminal proceedings have been initiated.

Witnesses who may have noticed the accomplice or can report suspicious observations are asked to contact the police at telephone number (0571) 8866-0.
