Witness appeal after missing person search

After the missing 48-year-old Marco Bombarding from Piesport still could not be found, the police are now looking for further witnesses. In particular, the driver of a car could provide important information.
The car was noticed by two people on 11.01.2025 at around 11:45 pm with the left indicator on or the hazard warning lights activated on the B53. The car was on the B 53 on the road or the cycle path towards Piesport, the front of the vehicle was facing the direction of the town of Wintrich. After a short stop, the journey was slowly continued in the direction of Wintrich.

On Sunday, 12.01.2025, a missing person was reported to the Bernkastel-Kues police station at around 7.30 pm. Relatives were worried about 48-year-old Marco Bombarding from Piesport. He attended a party in Wintrich on the evening of 11.01.2025 and left it around 11.30 pm. Since then, he has not been reachable by anyone. It is suspected that he walked home towards Piesport, but did not arrive there. A search by a large circle of friends as well as by surrounding fire departments including a rescue dog team and the Bernkastel-Kues police station has so far been unsuccessful. The missing person is about 1.87m tall, of slim build, has short cropped dark hair and wears neither a beard nor glasses. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing blue jeans, a light hoodie and a dark jacket.
