Control of E-Scooters in the city center

Neuwied - On 16.01.2025, checks focusing on e-scooters and cyclists were carried out in the city center of Neuwied. In several cases, violations were issued for riding in the pedestrian zone.
In the pedestrian zone, bicycles and e-scooters must be pushed. An e-scooter was found with an insurance license plate, which was not issued for the e-scooter being carried. In addition, it was found during the check that it had been reported as stolen. The driver was under the influence of narcotics during the ride. The 42-year-old suspect is therefore now facing several criminal proceedings.
