Eschwege PoliceFailure to yieldAt 11:42 am yesterday morning, a 48-year-old man from Fulda was driving a Sprinter on the L 3467 in the Frieda district and intended to turn onto the B 249 towards Wanfried. The 48-year-old overlooked a car also travelling on the federal road towards Wanfried, driven by a 53-year-old man from Vogtei.

The collision of both vehicles caused property damage of approximately 12,000 EUR. The drivers remained uninjured.

Chimney fire

At 12:10 pm yesterday afternoon, the fire department had to be called out to Dorfstraße in Schwebda after a fire was reported. It turned out to be a so-called "chimney fire", which caused minor damage to the apartment due to smoke/soot. The fire department extinguished the chimney fire with breathing apparatus. There were minor traffic disruptions during the operation. The damage is estimated at approximately 4,000 EUR.
