BPOL NRW: Federal Police arrest 39-year-old during border controls

On late Thursday evening, January 16, 2025 at 23:50, the Federal Police, as part of border controls on the A52 motorway at the Elmpt junction, checked a 39-year-old Pole as a passenger in a cross-border coach entering from the Netherlands. A comparison of personal data in police records revealed that he is wanted by the public prosecutor's office in Karlsruhe on a warrant for drunk driving.

According to this, the convicted person still has to pay a fine of 3150 euros or serve a 70-day prison sentence based on a judgment of the Bruchsal District Court. The wanted person was arrested on the spot and taken to the Kempen Federal Police Station for further processing. The man will be taken to prison in Willich on Friday morning to start his sentence, as he cannot pay the required fine.
