Restaurant fire in Eschwege - State Criminal Police Office has investigated the fire scene

Yesterday, Wednesday, the fire site of a restaurant at Schloßplatz in Eschwege was investigated by the fire cause investigators of the Hessian State Criminal Police Office together with the officers of the responsible specialist department of the Eschwege Criminal Police. In parallel, an external expert (assessor) was also involved in determining the cause of the fire.

The restaurant was affected by the fire on the night of 09.01.25, which according to the evidence broke out in the rear area of the restaurant. During yesterday's inspection, the focus was initially on a technical cause, which, however, could be completely ruled out.

The location of the fire outbreak could be located in the rear outdoor area, between the cold storage house and the adjacent parking lot of a fashion department store.

There, under a canopy adjacent to the cold storage house, a waste bin was placed, where with near certainty the fire originated and subsequently spread to the adjacent cold storage house and restaurant.

So far, there have been no indications of a deliberate act, which was also part of the investigations of the specialist department.
