Control of commercial goods traffic

(AB) The officers of the local traffic service conducted targeted checks on Wednesday, focusing on commercial passenger and goods transport. The aim of these regular checks is to increase safety in road traffic.
Due to increasing, Europe-wide competitive pressure in the aforementioned area, safety risks are increasingly consciously accepted by the logistics industry. Therefore, the hit rate of violations in targeted priority checks is usually at a high level, which underlines the necessity and relevance of regular checks by the police. A total of 18 violations were detected in the 26 controlled trucks, including a bus, in the industrial area in Minden-Päpinghausen and on the B482 at Porta Westfalica-Hausberge.

In four cases, the traffic experts issued administrative offence reports, among other things for load securing. Furthermore, the officers issued 14 warning fines. One truck was on the road with illegal lighting, twice there was a violation in connection with dangerous goods. The officers noticed on this control day that an above-average number of drivers had violated conditions. For example, five of them were not wearing the prescribed visual aid. As a result, two drivers even had to be prohibited from continuing their journey.

In addition to the targeted checks, the officers also noticed pedelec and e-scooter riders who behaved incorrectly in road traffic. Two cyclists and the driver of an e-scooter used the wrong side of a cycle path and were fined 20 euros. Two electric micro-vehicle drivers will have to deal with an administrative offence report because they ignored a red light. The violation is punished with a fine of 200 euros plus the administrative fee.

Furthermore, the traffic police carried out speed checks on the B 482 at Petershagen-Frille. These resulted in a total of 31 administrative offence reports and 50 warning fines for exceeding the permissible driving speed outside built-up areas. The fastest of around 1,600 controlled vehicles, the police finally flashed a 30-year-old driver from Nienburg with a speed excess of 48 kilometers per hour. She now faces a driving ban of one month and two points in Flensburg.
