The public prosecutor's office and criminal police are investigating an attempted homicide

Joint press release from the Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor's Office and the Rhein-Kreis Neuss District Police Authority:Already on Friday (10.01.) at around 7:35 pm, there was a dispute between two neighbours in the underground car park of a multi-family house in the Weissenberg district. According to current knowledge, the dispute over a parking space between two men aged 48 and 64 escalated.

In the course of the dispute, the 48-year-old with German and Iraqi citizenship is said to have injured the 64-year-old with a glass bottle lying around.

The 64-year-old resident was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, which he was able to leave again after outpatient treatment during the night.

Due to the nature and manner of the crime, the Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor's Office suspects an attempted homicide. The Criminal Investigation Department 11 in Neuss has taken over further investigations.

The Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor's Office will answer press inquiries about the investigation.
