Burning tree in Mecklenburg village

Yesterday afternoon, a fire broke out in a small garden complex in Dorf Mecklenburg, severely damaging a willow tree. Initial findings suggest that unknown perpetrators set the tree on fire around 3:30 pm.
The Dorf Mecklenburg Volunteer Fire Department had to eventually fell the willow. The incident resulted in property damage of approximately 10,000 euros.

An investigation has been initiated on suspicion of property damage by fire.

The police are asking witnesses who can provide relevant information about the incident or the perpetrators to contact the Wismar Police at the telephone number 03841 203-0 or any other police station.
