In the afternoon around 3:25 pm, officers from the Bergisch Gladbach police station observed a 39-year-old man from Rösrath in a Mercedes-Benz car on Dolmanstraße at the junction of Vürfels in the Refrath district. After the driver had crossed the red light of the traffic signal there, he was stopped and checked on Vürfelser Kaule street. The officers noticed as they approached the vehicle that the driver was trying to remove the cigarette smoke from the interior of the car with his hand. However, the officers could clearly smell the strong scent of marijuana. The driver also appeared intoxicated and a pre-test confirmed the influence of narcotics. He had a blood sample taken at a hospital. Due to the suspicion of drug-induced driving incapacity, an investigation procedure for the traffic offense of drunk driving was initiated and the man's driver's license was confiscated.
At 11:18 pm, officers from the Bergisch Gladbach police station stopped a 36-year-old man from Wuppertal in a Mercedes-Benz truck on Kempener Straße in the Katterbach district during a general traffic check. Several tests regarding the man's driving ability revealed physical abnormalities. A urine test also yielded a positive result, so a blood sample collection was ordered as part of the misdemeanor procedure and carried out by a doctor called to the station. (ct)
