Vehicle with illegally installed blue light

On Monday afternoon, January 15, 2025, at around 2:50 pm, a motorist reported a car to the police that was driving on the A60 motorway from Mainz in the direction of Bingen am Rhein. The vehicle was equipped with a blue light installed in the radiator grille, giving the impression of an emergency vehicle.
The officers of the Bingen police were able to spot the car at the Bingen-East junction and finally stop it at the Nahetal truck stop. During the traffic check, it turned out that the blue-red flashing light installed in the radiator grille was still continuously in operation.

The 30-year-old driver stated upon request that she was unaware of the installed blue light and explained that the vehicle belonged to her partner. Further inspection also revealed that the front side windows of the vehicle were illegally tinted dark, which also constitutes a regulatory offense.

Due to the illegal modifications, the vehicle's operating permit has expired. The driver and the owner will now have to answer in a regulatory offense procedure and must present the car to an official inspection station after the modifications have been removed.
