Fire Department Rostock: Fire of a boat in the city harbor, Altkarlshof, Rostock - Brinckmansdorf, on 17.01.2025, 23:50hrs

On the late evening of 17.01.2025, a burning yacht in the area of the East Harbor was reported to the control center of the Rostock Fire Department via emergency call. The fire brigade of Fire Station 3 and the Volunteer Fire Department Gehlsdorf / Dierkow were alerted.
The first arriving forces of Fire Station 3 found a approximately 12 meter long yacht at the dock in full blaze. An immediate land-based firefighting operation was carried out with a C-hose and two teams under respiratory protection. The water supply and safety teams were provided by the FF Gehlsdorf. At around 01:20 AM, after the final extinguishing of smaller embers, "fire out" could be reported.

There was no danger to residents and guests of a nearby hotel. A release of pollutants into the water could not be detected during the operation.

The yacht was apparently completely damaged. 18 professional firefighters and 15 volunteer firefighters were on duty.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the water police present at the scene.
