Over 200 traffic accidents with an estimated damage of about one million euros occurred on the roads of the districts of Reutlingen, Tübingen, Esslingen and Zollernalb within just under five hours on Wednesday morning. From 5.20 a., accident reports were almost coming in every minute at the emergency call center of the Reutlingen Police Headquarters. To handle the volume, all reception places were occupied. By ten o'clock, 205 accidents with sheet metal damage occurred. Eleven people were slightly injured in nine traffic accidents. Not counted are fallen pedestrians or two-wheel riders who fell and were taken care of by the rescue service. The most consequential traffic accident occurred on the B 27 near Hechingen. In the direction of Balingen, a total of 21 vehicles collided around eight o'clock. According to current knowledge, two vehicle occupants were slightly injured. The B 27 had to be completely blocked. The rescue service and employees of the THW moved to the accident site to take care of the participants. The federal road had to remain blocked for several hours until the crashed vehicles were recovered. The blockage is still ongoing at the hour (10.30 a.). (ms)
