Offenburg - Detention of an intoxicated person

An unusual incident occurred on Wednesday evening at the Ortenauklinik Offenburg. Around 9 pm, the hospital reported that a person was in the emergency room but did not want to be treated or leave the emergency room.
The 55-year-old was expelled from the premises by the officers on site. Subsequently, the apparently heavily intoxicated man was found by the emergency service on a zebra crossing nearby and was again brought to the central emergency room. As the 55-year-old was apparently no longer fit to drive, he was taken to the station by the officers of the Offenburg police station and spent the night in a police custody cell.
