At around 2:10 pm, the alleged employee appeared at the couple's residence on Universitätsstraße (between the junction of Wasserstraße and the A448). The seniors handed over their bank cards along with the PIN.
The unknown person then left the location with the cards. The man is described as follows: 30 to 40 years old, about 160 to 165 cm tall, short brown hair. He is said to have spoken High German.
The criminal police have started investigations and are asking for relevant information under the phone number 0234 909-4135 (-4441 outside office hours).
We cannot warn often enough: Trick thieves are inventive! Especially older people are the target of these scammers. Therefore, we also appeal to children, grandchildren, neighbors or acquaintances: Talk openly about the topic and pass on our advice: Hanging up is not rude!
