Caused collision by illegal turning

(mh) A 34-year-old driver sustained minor injuries in a traffic accident on Frankfurter Weg in Paderborn on Wednesday afternoon, January 15.The 25-year-old driver of an Opel Corsa attempted to make an illegal left turn across two lanes from the driveway of a fast-food chain onto Frankfurter Weg towards Borchener Strasse. This led to a collision with a Hyundai i30, which was travelling in the left lane towards Heinz-Nixdorf-Ring.
The 34-year-old driver of the Hyundai sustained minor injuries but declined treatment by an ambulance.

Both cars were no longer drivable and had to be towed. The total damage is estimated at around 9,000 euros. For the duration of the accident recording and recovery measures, Frankfurter Weg in the direction of Borchener Strasse was closed for about half an hour.
