Addition to residential house fire from 05.01.2025

Gera: The State Police Inspection Gera reported on 06.01.2025 about a residential fire in Glockenweg in Gera. At around 12:45 pm on 05.01.2025, a fire had broken out in the area of the carport, which subsequently spread to a vehicle and the residential building.
The Gera Criminal Police had initiated investigations into the fire. After a conducted fire scene investigation, a technical defect is assumed to be the cause of the fire. According to the current state of the investigation, the battery of a parked e-bike was the cause of the fire. External influence can be ruled out according to the current state of knowledge. (AK)
