In the early hours of Tuesday, a motorist in a Saic Maxus veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an oncoming Hyundai. The 54-year-old was driving along the L 600 from Lingental towards Gaiberg shortly after midnight when he became inattentive and veered into oncoming traffic, causing a collision with the oncoming vehicle.

The 54-year-old accident perpetrator, as well as the 34-year-old Hyundai driver, were medically treated at the scene by rescue workers and subsequently taken to a hospital for further examination with minor injuries. Both vehicles were no longer drivable and had to be towed. The damage is estimated at 30,000 euros.

The Neckargemünd police station has begun accident investigations.
