This morning at 03.00 a.m., federal police checked a cross-border long-distance bus at Flensburg station. Among the passengers was a 27-year-old man who was able to identify himself properly. During the search-like check of his personal data, the officers were able to determine that he had a total of six warrants in the police system.
Three of the entries were investigations into his whereabouts due to fraudulent acquisition of services and theft. In addition, there were three arrest warrants. Prosecutors were looking for the young man because he had been convicted in 2024 for drunk driving, fraud, and a misdemeanor, and had then fled abroad without paying.
Now, at the federal police station, he was given the chance to pay his fines. Since he could not pay the total of 1645 euros, he had to go to the correctional facility where he will now spend the next 111 days.
During his search, an unlicensed irritant spray device was found, and a criminal proceeding for violation of the weapons law was initiated against the 27-year-old, and the spray was seized.
