Kalkar - Supplementary report to the report from 15.01.2025; 07:59 AM

After a fire broke out in a house on Monrestraße in Kalkar on Tuesday evening (14 January 2025), specialized investigators from the criminal police, together with a fire expert, have begun investigations. As part of the investigations, the scene of the fire was inspected on Wednesday morning.
According to current findings, a technical defect in a refrigerator on the first floor caused the fire. All three people who were in the house at the time of the fire suffered severe injuries. The 52-year-old man and the 22-year-old woman are no longer in critical condition. However, the 7-month-old girl is still in critical condition. (as)
