BPOLI C: Entry ends in jail for two people

Firstly, officers from the Federal Police Inspection Chemnitz checked a 44-year-old Romanian national after his entry from the Czech Republic on 10.01.2025. During the verification of his personal details, the officers discovered that there was an arrest warrant for him for the execution of a sentence from the Memmingen public prosecutor's office.

He had been sentenced to a prison term of one year by the Günzburg local court for causing grievous bodily harm. He was arrested and subsequently admitted to the Zwickau correctional facility.

A 31-year-old Bulgarian national was also admitted to the Zwickau correctional facility. He was checked upon entry on 11.01.2025. There were two warrants for him from the Stuttgart and Düsseldorf public prosecutor's offices. In both cases, he had been sentenced to a fine of just under 1800 euros or a substitute prison sentence of 159 days for theft. Since he was unable to pay the outstanding fine, he was admitted to the correctional facility.
