Accident on L3258 between Hofbieber and Morles - Car driver swerves to avoid deer and collides with guardrail

On the night of Monday to Tuesday (13./14.01.), the 38-year-old driver of an Audi RS6 was driving on the L3258 from Hofbieber towards Morles. During the drive, a deer suddenly crossed the road at around 11.50 pm.
The driver from Künzell tried to avoid the animal and collided with the right guardrail. The impact damaged the guardrail over a length of about 15 meters. The car suffered significant damage. The total damage is estimated at 15,000 euros. The deer apparently remained uninjured and jumped into the forest. This incident illustrates how important it is not to swerve for wild animals on the road in order not to endanger one's own safety and that of other road users.
