The fire department was called out to Breslauer Street in Korntal-Münchingen on Sunday (12.01.2025) after a fire was reported there around 7:30 PM. Presumably due to the flame of a candle, a wooden shelf on a balcony of a multi-family house initially caught fire.
The flames then spread to an awning. Residents were able to extinguish the fire and throw the awning from the balcony to prevent further spread. No one was injured in the incident. The extent of the damage caused is currently still not precisely quantifiable.
