BPOL NRW: Federal Police arrest 56-year-old on Highway 40 as part of border controls

On Saturday afternoon, January 18, 2025, at 3:45 p. m.
, the Federal Police checked a 56-year-old Serbian man entering from the Netherlands in a passenger car registered in Hamburg as part of border controls on motorway 40 at the Wankum junction. A comparison of the traveler's personal details with police records revealed that he is wanted on a warrant for manslaughter by the Hamburg Public Prosecutor's Office. According to this, the convicted person still has to serve a remaining prison sentence of 727 days. The man was then arrested on the spot and taken to the Kempen Federal Police Station for further processing. After the police measures at the station were completed, the Federal Police delivered the Serbian to the prison in Willich to start his sentence.
