42-year old slightly injured after fire #polsiwi

Early on Thursday morning (16.01.2025), a fire broke out in a multi-family house on Sandstraße in Siegen. Initial findings indicate that a stroller in the basement was on fire.
This led to heavy smoke development. A 42-year-old man suffered minor injuries. An ambulance took him to a hospital on suspicion of smoke inhalation. The basement compartment has been heavily sooted due to the fire.

How the fire started is now the subject of ongoing investigations, which have already been taken over by the Siegen Criminal Investigation Department 1.
