There had been a police operation during the night, resulting in arrests. Additional perpetrators (Eastern European, armed) were on the run. Clues to the property of the called victims were found among the arrested. Money, gold coins, etc. were reportedly stored there. The valuables were supposed to be secured now. Usually, a handover is suggested, which never happened.
After the victims denied that there were large sums of cash in the house, the call was ended.
In individual cases, after the victims hung up because they quickly recognized the scam, there was a verbally more aggressive callback. In one case, where the victim recognized the "fake" early on and mocked the perpetrator in return, the latter angrily threatened to send people to him.
It is very positive to note that no one who was called fell for the story, there were hardly any demands and no money was handed over.
Also, due to extensive public relations work, the "business model" seems to be slowly phasing out, as indicated by the aggressive reactions of the perpetrators.
