Multi-family house uninhabitable after basement fire

Just after five o'clock, the emergency services were informed of the basement fire by police and fire brigade via emergency call. When the emergency services arrived on the scene, all residents had already left the house. The firefighters quickly brought the flames under control. Even though the fire only raged in the basement, the entire house is sooty due to the immense smoke development and is currently uninhabitable. Four residents suffered minor smoke inhalation and were taken to Minden Hospital for outpatient treatment by ambulance. During the firefighting, Hahler Straße was temporarily closed to traffic. As a result of the findings of an initial interview, investigators currently suspect negligent arson.
