From 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., road users were checked on the federal highway 243 in the town of Groß Düngen (city of Bad Salzdetfurth).
Subsequently, the control units moved to a parking lot on the federal highway 6 at the height of Astenbeck (municipality of Holle). The checks here lasted from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
At around 10:30 a.m., a 27-year-old car driver from Hildesheim entered the first checkpoint. The police officers found that the man apparently did not have a driving license. Furthermore, he seemed to be under the influence of cannabis. He was prohibited from continuing his journey, and a blood sample was also taken from him by a doctor. A criminal proceeding has also been initiated against the owner of the car, as she is suspected of having allowed the journey.
At 11:15 a.m., a 22-year-old from Bad Salzdetfurth was checked as part of the controls. Here too, the officers filed a criminal complaint against the car driver, as he could not present a valid driving license.
In addition, the officers initiated a total of eleven traffic offense proceedings against other road users, among other things due to missing lighting or other technical defects. In the latter case, the individuals are now required to rectify the defects and possibly prove this afterwards.
In the future, the Bad Salzdetfurth police will carry out similar checks throughout their area of responsibility to prevent serious accidents. In this context, the local police station once again points out that functioning lighting equipment, suitable tires and a clear view are essential for safe participation in road traffic, especially in winter.
