On Tuesday morning (around 08:45), passers-by in Würzburg noticed a black Renault Twingo performing dangerous maneuvers with spinning tires on a company parking lot on Ohmstraße and alerted the police.
A patrol crew from the Würzburg-Stadt police station arrived on the scene and found two men aged 20 and 23, as well as the vehicle stolen in Nuremberg. The men were in possession of the original vehicle key and were obviously under the influence of intoxicating substances. A preliminary test confirmed suspicions of cannabis use.
The men were temporarily arrested and the stolen vehicle was secured. In addition, the public prosecutor's office ordered a blood sample to be taken.
The duo now face charges including suspicion of theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
The police are also asking witnesses who observed the theft or noticed the vehicle in the mentioned period between Nuremberg and Würzburg and possibly got into a dangerous traffic situation, to contact the police at the phone number 0911 65830 or 0931 4572210.
