Traffic accident under the influence of alcohol and without a driving license - Truck driver collides with height restriction of a fast-food restaurant in Cuxhaven

Cuxhaven. On Tuesday evening (14.01.2025), off-duty officers from Cuxhaven Police reported a truck (maximum permissible weight 18,000kg) on B73/Papenstraße at around 11:00 pm, which was swerving and had almost driven into the guardrail there.
Shortly afterwards, the vehicle collided with the height restriction of a fast-food restaurant on Papenstraße.

During the subsequent accident investigation, it was found that the driver, a 28-year-old man from Cuxhaven, was heavily under the influence of alcohol. A preliminary test showed a value of more than 1.6 per mille. It was also found that the man did not have a driving license. This had been legally revoked from him in 2022. The vehicle keys were secured on site.

There was apparently no damage to the truck. The height restriction suffered an estimated damage of 1,000 euros.
