BPOLI MD: Verbal altercation with glass bottle throw leads to multiple reports

On Monday, January 13, 2025, at 9:10 pm, the control center of the Federal Police Inspection Magdeburg was informed about an attempted dangerous bodily harm at Magdeburg main station, platform 3. Two notified patrols and a four-legged colleague immediately headed towards the scene. Initial findings suggest that there had been a verbal altercation between a 29-year-old and a 33-year-old.
From a group of three people, the 29-year-old then threw a glass bottle from the platform towards the 33-year-old, who was just getting into the regional express train. Fortunately, the train doors closed in time, so the bottle shattered on the door and did not hit the man. The German man therefore remained unharmed. The door was slightly damaged. The officers recorded the personal details of all those involved and checked them. During this, the 33-year-old suspect repeatedly shouted loudly towards the train and wanted to approach the victim. He was repeatedly asked not to evade the police measure. Only after the threat of the service dog did he comply with the instructions. His acquaintance behaved so verbally aggressive, loud and uncooperative that the officers decided to put handcuffs on the 21-year-old for danger prevention. The German man calmed down shortly afterwards. As a result, the handcuffs could be removed. A voluntarily conducted breath alcohol test revealed a value of 1.63 per mille in the suspected German bottle thrower. He received criminal charges for attempted dangerous bodily harm and property damage and was finally expelled from the station with a ban.
