Vandalism at sports ground + Lost ice slabs + Burglar arrested

Ebsdorfergrund- Beltershausen-Frauenberg: Vandalism at sports groundUnknown individuals left behind a toppled table, a destroyed bench, and a charred Christmas tree at the sports ground on Balderscheidweg. Between Friday, January 10, 8 pm, and Sunday, January 12, 3 pm, the unknown individuals wreaked havoc on the sports field, causing approximately 300 euros in damage.

Weimar- Niederweimar: Lost ice slabs

Just before the Niederweimar exit on the B3 coming from Marburg, ice slabs detached from the roof of a DHL vehicle on Friday, January 10, and fell onto the Mercedes GLC driving behind. This caused two cracks in the windshield of the Mercedes, amounting to an estimated damage of 450 euros. No further details about the yellow DHL van are available. The unknown driver continued his journey after the accident around 4.10 pm. The Marburg police are looking for witnesses who saw the ice slabs falling or can provide information about the license plate (phone number 06421/4060).

Marburg: Burglar arrested

A witness reported a break-in at a business complex on Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Straße to the police on Saturday morning, January 11. He reported a man who had smashed a window around 6.20 am and climbed into the building. Several police patrols then drove to the scene and could temporarily see the burglar from outside. After initially ignoring the police officers and their instructions, the building was searched with the help of a police service dog. The man was eventually arrested without resistance. The officers found tools on him that he had previously stolen from two properties in the neighborhood. The homeless 31-year-old was then taken to the police station. After the police measures were completed, he was presented to the responsible magistrate at the Marburg District Court. The 31-year-old is now in pre-trial detention.
