Swerved to avoid wildlife and slid into the ditch

A 58-year-old truck driver was driving on the federal highway between Melpers and Reichenhausen on Monday afternoon when a deer crossed the road. The man swerved to avoid it, veered off the road to the right, and slid into the ditch.
The driver sustained minor injuries and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. The towing service took care of the truck. The accident caused damage amounting to over 10,000 euros. There was no trace of the deer.
