Fortunately, no passengers were injured in this incident. A patrol from both the state and federal police immediately went to the scene. There they were able to identify two men who matched the descriptions given. The identities of the 31-year-old German and 41-year-old Iraqi nationals were established, followed by a warning about the dangers the men had put themselves in with their reckless actions. Both were charged with coercion, dangerous interference with railway traffic, disruption of public services, and illegal presence on the tracks, as well as being banned from the station. They complied with this. In this context, the Federal Police once again explicitly points out that entering railway tracks at places not intended for this purpose is life-threatening and prohibited for unauthorized persons. Trains approach almost silently and can often only be noticed very late depending on the wind direction. In addition, the passing trains create a tremendous suction effect, which can also lead to serious, if not fatal, accidents.
