Caused damage and drove away - Perpetrator could be identified

on L454 in the district of Dannstadt. A witness observed a truck, presumably with Spanish license plates, damaging a local street lamp during a turning maneuver. The reported damage was also confirmed on site by the officers deployed. A photograph of the truck taken by the witness allowed parts of the license plate and a black inscription to be read. As part of further investigations at an adjacent company in Mutterstadt, the alleged accident perpetrator and his vehicle were found. Corresponding accident damage could be identified and documented on the rear of the truck. The damage to the street lamp amounted to just under 1,500 euros. The Spanish truck driver now faces criminal proceedings for hit-and-run.
