(BC) Riedlingen - Traffic light out
Just before midnight, a 47-year-old man was driving his Mercedes truck on Bundesstraße 311/ Neue Unlinger Straße from Riedlingen towards Unlingen. A 57-year-old woman was driving her Citroen on Industriestraße.
The car driver wanted to continue straight on towards Daimlerstraße and entered the intersection. As the police report, the traffic light at the intersection was switched off at this time. Therefore, the traffic signs regulate the right of way. The Citroen driver had not taken this into account and collided with the truck coming from the right. The trucker had initiated a brake, so the impact was not too severe. Nobody was injured. The Riedlingen police recorded the accident. They estimate the damage to the car at around 1,000 euros, and to the truck at approximately 1,500 euros.
