Joint restaurant inspections by police and KOD

On January 10, 2025, between 6pm and 2am, operational forces of the Krefeld Police and the Municipal Regulatory Service conducted checks in 15 Krefeld restaurants. During these checks, several violations of regulations on illegal gambling, as well as against the Youth Protection Act, the Weapons Act, and the Trade Regulation Act were identified.

A total of eight administrative offense proceedings were initiated, and a laptop, a receipt printer, and various documents were seized. In addition, the operational forces found untaxed e-cigarettes or e-shishas in the three-digit range and an illegal firecracker in one establishment. Both violations resulted in corresponding seizures and criminal charges. A total of 149 individuals were checked during the controls. Similar operations by the police and the city of Krefeld will continue in the future. (3)
