In the basement, single-story building, furniture was burning with fire spreading to the attic. The fire was brought under control relatively quickly due to the immediate use of a total of 3 hoses under respiratory protection. The search for affected persons was negative.
Due to hidden embers in the roof area, there were longer and complex extinguishing works via a turntable ladder. The temperatures around -5°C posed an additional challenge for the forces deployed, as the extinguishing water led to ice formation in the area of the operation.
A total of 36 emergency personnel from professional fire stations 1 and 3, the Rostock city center volunteer fire brigade, the management service, and the rescue service were deployed. The forces were supported by officers from the federal and state police, the emergency manager of DB AG, and an employee of the Rostock city utilities.
The operation could be completed after over 3 hours. There were no injuries to report.
